When you have decided to join ED, you will start with $50,000. This is temporary for the first few members, as later the starting money will be smaller. This money is yours to do what you want with. You can spend it on horses, tack, or anything you want.
When you join, you start with one horse that you create. After this is created, any other horses must be bought. It can be any breed you wish, and you must have the following information.
Name:
This is what your horse is called in shows, so this will be something like, 'Simply Perfect'.
Barn Name:
This is like a nickname for your horse, so you won't always have to call them by their long showname. This will be something like 'Red'.
Breed:
This is what breed your horse is, and can be anything from a Thoroughbred to a Welsh. It has to be a real breed though, and if you wish, may be a mixed breed.
Age:
How old your horse is. While your horse may live longer if you create him at age 2, he won't be able to do many things, such as breed, show in many competitions, be trained, and be elegible for some awards. An older horse is easier to train, and worth more money. Still, it is your choice.
Gender:
Your horse can be mare, stallion, or gelding. A mare can be used to have foals, and are at a normal level for training. A stallion can be used to breed to mares, but are harder to train. A gelding is a casterated stallion, so they can't be bred. They are much easier to train though.
Color:
This is what color your horse is. Theres bay, chestnut, black, brown, piebald, roan, Gray, Palomino, skewbald, Dun, cream, and appaloosa. But remember, certain breeds can only be certain colors. For instance, a thoroughbred isn't going to be apaloosa colored.
Height:
On a scale of hh. Each hh is 4 inches. Certain breeds are certain heights. A Shire could be 18hh, while a shetland pony could be 10hh. Please make the horse neither tiny nor strangely large.
Sire/Dam:
These are the horses parents. If you created the horse, the horse will have no parents. A sire is the dad, and Dam is the mare.
Disiplines:
These are the disiplines your horse is trained in. When created, your horse can hav 2 disiplines, and others must be trained. There is more on disiplines in anouther chapter.
A Newbie (under 1 month) can own up to 15 horses, an Experianced member (1 month +) can own 20, and an expert member (1 year+) can own 30.
